Dear SCS School Families,
Welcome to the Catholic Church! It is moments like these that quickly remind us of the gift of Catholic education and why it matters. At our school Mass this morning we witnessed one of our students, a 2nd grader, make a public profession of faith. Hunter recently shared his desire to be Catholic with his family and teacher. With the guidance of his parents, Mrs. Gallimore, Fr. Bill John, and all of the St. Catherine of Siena community, Hunter is working towards receiving both First Reconciliation and First Communion with his classmates. It has been an edifying journey for Hunter and those around him. When asked why he wanted to do this Hunter said, "I just really wanted to receive Jesus with my class." Thank you, Hunter, for choosing Jesus and allowing us to celebrate that with you!
Witnessing Hunter's profession of faith was powerful for our parish and school community. It acts as a reminder of who we are and what we strive for. Especially during this season of Lent as we look for what is to come during Holy Week and the joy of the Resurrection. The sacraments remind us of our connection to the Body of Christ and give us the graces to serve Him in our family and community.
As we near Holy Week and Easter my prayer for you and your families is one of peace and joy. I pray you all experience all that this holy season is. I pray for peace in your hearts and homes, and for joy to overflow in your lives!
Below is the schedule for the Paschal Triduum. I hope to see you there!
Sincerely In Christ,
Mrs. Cathy Schwarz
