"Grant me, O Lord my God, a mind to know you, a heart to seek you, wisdom to find you, conduct pleasing to you, faithful perseverance in waiting for you, and a hope of finally embracing you. Amen.”
- St. Thomas Aquinas, Feast Day January 28
Dear SCS School Families,
As Catholic school educators, we are excited to kick off our annual Catholic Schools Week beginning with inviting all families to our Masses this coming Sunday. Alumni of St. Catherine's school will be speaking at all Masses and our teachers will join me at the 10:30 AM Mass on Sunday. Following the 10:30 AM Mass, we are inviting all school families and parishioners to join us in the gym for coffee and donuts.
What is National Catholic Schools Week?
Since 1974, National Catholic Schools Week has been the annual celebration of Catholic education in the United States. It starts the last Sunday in January and runs all week, which in 2022 is January 30 – February 5. The theme for National Catholic Schools Week 2022 is “Catholic Schools: Faith. Excellence. Service.” Schools typically observe the annual celebration week with Masses, open houses, and other activities for students, families, parishioners, and community members. Through these events, schools focus on the value Catholic education provides to young people and its contributions to our church, our communities, and our nation.
Please make sure to look at the calendar of weekly events that was sent home on Thursday in the student's folders. We are looking forward to celebrating our school and the people that contribute to the formation of our young students!
May God continue to bless our school families, teachers, staff, and Priests! Please join me in praying that more families give the gift of Catholic education to their children!
Sincerely In Christ,
Mrs. Cathy Schwarz
